Finnish MPs fall under Rajavi's spell
Finland's political elite has fallen under the spell of the Rajavi cult. The Iranian terrorist leader Maryam Rajavi has ensnared legislators in several countries and the European Parliament. When two MKO terrorists were detained in Finland, few really knew what the group stood for.
Before her "charm offensive" targeting political leaders in Europe and elsewhere, Maryam Rajavi ordered her cult members to kill their own people and to attack the Iraqi Kurds at the behest of Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein. The Rajavis have played the "women's rights" card for years, and many influential female polticians and public figures, including Danielle Mitterrand, have fallen to their trap. It is no big surprise that the Conservative former MEP, Piia-Noora Kauppi, is equally oblivious. The Finnish Foreign Ministry's Global.Finland website has an article by leftist author Rita Dahl, who parrots Maryam Rajavi's Siren song, trying to discredit the democratic opposition movement inside Iran. Kauppi calls on Finland to "abandon its peaceful policy" toward Iran. Kimmo Sasi, chairman of the Finnish Parliament's Constitutional Law Committee, announced the creation of a "Committee for a Free Iran." The committee, which is comprised of MPs from various parties, will support the MKO's "Third Option" and its terrorist camp in Ashraf. Maryam Rajavi kept busy in Helsinki: she met with Minister of Justice Tuija Brax, chairmen of several parliamentary committees, fraction heads of the Greens, the Left Alliance, and the SDP, the deputy mayor of Helsinki, and the chairman of the Finnish PACE delegation. Maryam Rajavi's visit has tarnished Finland's image as a defender of human rights and democracy. Members of the Finnish political elite and the Archbishop of the Finnish Lutheran Church have played the role of "useful fools." This visit is so wrong that I want to cry out loud. If ever the MKO should gain power in Tehran, they would establish a totalitarian dictatorship that would shed the blood of countless of innocent Iranians. Maryam Rajavi and her "husband" Massoud Rajavi should languish in jail, not strut along in corridors of power.

NCRI:n johtaja Maryam Rajavi on ilmeisen kontroversiaali hahmo. Silti hänet oli kutsunut Suomeen puhumaan eduskuntamme ja lehdistötilaisuuksissa oli häntä tukemassa monia muita kansainvälisiä ja kotimaisia poliitikoita, ihmisoikeusjuristeja ja vaikuttajia. Nämä toistivat tilaisuudessa NCRI:n ydinsanomaa, tarvetta tukea Ashrafin pakolaisleiriä, joka löytyi myös järjestön painetuista esitteistä. Toinen keskeinen toivehan oli, että Suomi painostaisi YK:ta toteuttamaan Irania koskevan julkilausumansa. Nämähän ovat sinänsä hyviä vaateita.
Toimittajan on ilmeisesti syytä olla jatkuvasti varuillaan, vaikka vieras olisi kuinka korkean poliittisen tahon kutsuma. Rajavista on syytä tietää: hän liittyi Mujahideen al-Khalq Organisationiin (MKO) teini-ikäisenä. Järjestön päämäärä oli syrjäyttää uskonnollinen johtaja Ajatollah Khomeini (Rajavin nykyisin johtama NCRI puhuu teokratiaa vastaan edelleen).
Rajavi toimi National Liberation Armyn (NLA) eli MKO:n sotilaallisen siiven varajohtajana/komentajana vuoteen 1993 asti. Silloin NLA yhdistyi NCRI:hin, jonka johtaja Rajavista tuli. MKO:n johtajuus jäi hänen aviomiehelleen. Yhdysvallat on listannut MKO:n vuonna 1997 terroristijärjestöjen joukkoon. EU teki samoin vuonna 2000. Kyseiset tiedot selviävät muun muassa BBC:n haastattelusta vuodelta 1993.
On myös ilmeisen kiistanalainen tieto, että NCRI olisi ainoa virallinen oppositio Iranissa. Tämäkin "fakta" löytyi NCRI:n materiaaleista, eikä sitä kyseenalaistanut kukaan puhuja tilaisuudessa.
